Another update! I'm on a roll.

So, it's time for another update. After a particularly emotastic two-weeks, I had a weekend which afforded me the opportunity to cheer up a little.

I went to Monash University on Friday (August 24th) for a Transition Day. Overall, it was pretty pointless, as they didn't really teach me anything about Monash that I didn't already know/want to know. However, it wasn't all bad, as it meant missing a whole day of school (in your face, double Maths!), and it finished at 12:30.
That being said, after catching the bus to Huntingdale Station, we found the train had broken down, so there'd be a delay of 25-30 mins. Then, after 25-30 mins, they told us that there would be a bus coming to take us to Caulfield Station. Turns out there wasn't, which meant catching the public bus (the 900, if anyone is really that interested). Which meant having to wait a further 20 mins because the first bus was full. Why oh why didn't we just stay on the first bus until Caulfield Station?

Then Saturday involved firstly work (8am-1pm, which was fun considering I'd had barely and sleep the night before. Insomnia for the win), then finding a costume (explained later).
After that I ventured into the city to watch a discussion about the life and works of W. H. Auden (which was part of The Age Melbourne Writers Festival), which was ideally meant to help for our Literature exam, but really involved nothing more than two old men reminiscing about Auden.
Finally was Chris Rosetti's 18th, which involved travelling all the way to the far away land of Berwick. The party was a costumed 'Heroes' theme, so I decided to take the cheap way out, and simply rented a long black overcoat (which I now want to buy, or one similar to it), and wearing a black T-shirt and jeans underneath. And voila, instant Neo. I'll try and find some pictures, and post them somewhere (I might have to dig out my old Photobucket account, le gasp).
The party itself was pretty uneventful, but some of the costumes were interesting (Nathan Holt as Captain Planet, Jonothan Wills as a spandex-clad Batman).

And finally, a very beautifully sunny Sunday, which involved nothing more than finishing off my damn draft for my Literature SAC tomorrow, which is worth a whopping 60 marks out of the total 200 for Coursework in Literature 3&4. We were given the tasks several weeks ago, so I picked something I thought would be easy and entertaining. Turns out trying to transpose Dylan Thomas' Under Milkwood to a modern upper-class suburbia setting is rather difficult, and resulted in the urge to slam my head against the wall.
Also, I attempted to mow the lawn. Note the word attempted, as I discovered, to my elation, that the lawn-mower was ill, and decided to alert me of that fact by blowing out rather sick smoke, and idling in a rather strange fashion. So, calloo, callay, I was able to put the mower away and enjoy the sunshine instead by sitting amongst the amusingly long grass.

And that's it for my weekend. Coming up next week, watch me go insane as I start my healthy eating diet (you know that you're unfit when you become out of breath just from running up the stairs). Apparently eating grass is good for you.
